How to Nail Your Engagement Photo Session Experience?
One of the first stops on the wedding planning train is often the Engagement Photo Session. Capturing the essence of your love and excitement during this special time is crucial, and I am here to help you shine in front of the camera.
Today, I’ll be sharing some valuable advice on posing for your upcoming Engagement Session to ensure you look and feel your absolute best.
In my experience as a wedding photographer, most of the Grooms are a little shy or rather feel uncomfortable in front of the photographer for the first time. How to make it easy on everyone? Treat your photographer with a coffee from Starbucks before the shoot, next to your Engagement session location. Chat and talk for 10-20 minutes. By the way, I love Cappuccino with Butter Croissant (just saying😉).
That is why I try to contact my couples via Video Call, to get to know them. I found out very early in my career: To get perfect shots it’s very important to get to know each other. Talking via Video Call and sharing expectations are very valuable. Plus, you will not be shy or feel uncomfortable once we meet.
Alright, so what do you need to remember?
I've worked with countless couples to create magical photos that they absolutely adore. Whether you're camera-shy or a seasoned pro, here are some tips to help you rock your engagement session:
1. Interact with Your Partner: Instead of focusing on posing for the camera, let your main focus be on interacting with your partner. Remember, these photos are meant to celebrate your relationship and the start of your journey together. So have fun, make each other laugh, reminisce about your favorite memories, and talk about your future dreams.
2. Use Pinterest for Inspiration: Pinterest can be a great source of inspiration for ideas, but remember not to aim for exact replicas. Use it as a starting point to find some general poses and interactions that resonate with you and your partner. Make these ideas your own during the shoot.
3. Be Comfortable and True to Yourself: Above all, do what makes you feel comfortable and showcases your true personalities. Communicate your desires and preferences to your photographer, and don't be afraid to speak up if something doesn't feel right. I always prioritize your comfort and want to create beautiful memories that truly represent your relationship.
Over all, don’t worry I’ll provide loose direction and support while encouraging interaction between you and your partner. I want to capture your authentic love and those precious moments that you'll cherish forever. My focus is on you and your relationship, and I am here to make your engagement session a truly enjoyable and memorable experience.
Can't wait to capture your love story through stunning photographs!
